So the other day I already mentioned the first in one of my personal projects which I was able to do during the long weekend and now here is the second one:

Create a Times of Refreshing Blog Photobook (magazine-style)

So I scored another voucher from Metrodeal for a Softcover 8x11" 40 pages for Photobook Philippines. But instead of starting out from scratch, I tried one of the travel templates found under their Ready Books category. With a little bit of tweaking to customize some of the pages in my own preference, I was able to finish up in 2 days and here is the finish product. Click on the link to show all the pages.

I know it is a far cry from those done professionally but it is for personal use and for a non-artist such as myself, I am quite happy with the end result. I am done ordering and just waiting for delivery after 7 days. Don't worry, I will update this post with the actual photobook printout once I received it.

Swimming Pool at the 3rd Floor around 7pm

That ends my three-part series on Acacia Hotel Manila. Just a recap, here is the De Luxe Room and the staycation experience we had in our overnight stay. Hope you enjoyed the posts!

Already stayed there as well, how was it?

Jul 13, 2013

So I already shared to you the fun that we had in our staycation at Acacia Hotel in Alabang. For this post, let me just give you a quick tour inside their De Luxe King Room. During my booking with the Reservation Officer, I mentioned that I prefer early check-in. They agreed as long as the room is already available upon our arrival. So we were already ushered to the room at 12nn instead of the usual 2pm. That's a couple of extra hours for us to enjoy.

Having a floor area of 34 square meters, the layout of the room is pretty much typical to most of the hotel De Luxe rooms, see here for comparison. But it is always fun to observe how they maximize space to give comfort to their guest.

Upon entering the door, you have the closet on your left then to your right are key card slot to power up the room and the bathroom. A few steps further and the bed gives you an inviting greeting "welcome to your home for the night, snuggle up here".

.
You have your 40” LCD TV hooked up to Sky Cable. Complimentary in room coffee and tea. They also bring in Welcome Fruits and Drinks. Inside the cabinet is a fully stocked mini bar and refrigerator containing drinks in can and some chocolates.

At the top of the full size executive desk is where we found their in room service menu (Meal ranges from Php 300 up) and other information regarding the hotel. The desk lamp was so sleek I want one in our house hehehe. Mounted also in the wall is that black thingamajig (at the bottom of the mirror) where you can connect your gadgets and link output to the TV. Anyway, those techie would know what I am talking about. Moving along... For the telephone, you have that at bed side and another one in the bathroom.

The hotel offers free WiFi within the hotel's vicinity. You just need to key in your room number and surname (case sensitive). But the signal in the pool area is a bit weak so enable your 3G if you're in this spot and still wants to be connected.

Inside the closet you have your wooden hangers, bedroom slippers, a laundry bag, safety box and torch light for emergency. Hubby actually used the iron and ironing board in the morning to iron his shorts because he just packed it straight from the sampayan. Hahaha. I did not see any bathrobes though.

Let us not forget the bathroom, so without further adieu...

That's pretty much it. Like I said in previous post, we were able to get a feel all of these 36% off through Deal Grocer. Here is a sample computation of publish rate vs. voucher rate at Php 3,500.

After going around the Paradizoo Theme Park, we headed to Residence Inn to have our lunch since our voucher includes 4 set meals already. We just added a couple of more viands to our table and we were all set to dine as it was overlooking Taal Volcano.

Zoomanity group invites visitors to "Feel the cold breeze of Tagaytay while enjoying a rush of excitement and a breath-taking view here in Residence Inn. It is famous for its Mini Zoo and it’s excellent location overlooking Taal Lake." It is located at the boundary of Tagaytay and Batangas at the left side of the road and here are some of the animals you can find in the mini zoo.

For the rest of the afternoon, we went around to every nook of the place -- rediscovering it since it was not my first time there. Actually, while growing up dito kami lagi lumalaboy whenever we go up in Tagaytay but now it is under Zoomanity Group management who updated the services of the place.

Regular entrance and package rates, zoovenir shops and picnic tables right outside.

Photo-op with the less harmful animals in the zoo.

They also have a scheduled 15-minute show featuring the talents of the different animals and allowing the visitors to touch the animals with supervision. Check out my bro and sis-in-law (SIL) holding scorpions in their hands and my niece up close and personal as the little piggy does some tricks.

Waaah!!! Sssssnakey around hubby's neck. It is an Albino Burmese Python weighing around 5 lbs and leathery feel according to him.

Also, included in our voucher is an option to ride either the zipline or the cable car. Wala lang sa kids pero medyo ninerbyos ako sa sobrang liit nung isa feeling ko lulusot sya sa butas. Haiss!!!

Hope you will have as much fun as we did.
